Tech Upgrade/Overhaul

I was contacted by the Village of Crivitz last Fall as their current IT provider had gotten a job and was no longer responding. I sat down with them and it quickly became apparent they were about ten years behind on all-things-tech and were really needing to be upgraded. I was given a fairly meager budget ($20k) and was able to prepare a quote to upgrade EVERYTHING within their budget, to my amazement. 🤯 Even more surprising, by the time we were done with the project we were able to carve out a $500/mo savings...what started as a capital project ultimately turned into long-term savings for the Village! 😁

Network/Cameras: We started by upgrading their internet from Brightspeed to Astrea and their internal network to Ubiquiti, an awesome SMB networking solution. We then beefed up their wireless with some Ubiquiti access points and added a 360 degree camera in City Hall. (be sure to check out the camera link - they are amazing)

Computers/Laptops: We replaced all of their desktop and laptop computers with current Windows 11 equipment that will last for many years to come!

Documents/Email: They were utilizing an aging (and at-risk) server for email and file sharing and we chose to leverage the cloud by migrating them to Office 365. This provided a significant upgrade to their security and backups/redundancy, along with providing a plethora of new useful features. We replaced their server with a Synology NAS to run their local accounting software as well as provide us with an offsite backup to Office 365.

Phone System: They were quite unhappy with their older key phone system (that had issues) and were thrilled to move to the GoToConnect VoIP phone system. We were able to consolidate many of their older lines ($75/mo/ea) and ultimately saved $500/mo by moving to a VoIP phone system!

Board Room: An old projector and small desktop microphone weren't able to support their remote/Zoom meeting needs. A 75" TV, new computer and Nexi360 degree Camera later they now have a cutting-edge conference room solution.

Security: Their server room is shared and, to my dismay, was often left unlocked. We added a Ubiquiti RFID Door Access Control system to the door and they absolutely LOVE it.

I think that's everything we did for them within their proposed budget. It still amazes me how friendly IT has become for smaller organizations. If you'd like to learn more about anything above - don't hesitate to reach out to us at hello@arpkeit.com or 920-383-4883. -Brian
